I discovered a girl called Tavi Gevinson late last night and it made me realise that it's about time to sort my life out, design and blog!
This awesome girl started a fashion blog in 2008 when she was only 11 out of pure interest and love for fashion. I read about her in a magazine and was curious so I checked out her blog, The Style Rookie and I didn't know how to react.
Although my interest in fashion has always been limited, I found her blog engaging and just undeniably professional, it makes you forget she's 13!
Her blog has become so big that many designers like Dior, Aleax Wang, Miu Miu have taken notice and now consider her as one of their own. She's been invited to the New York fashion week and many other big fashion events.
Her blog both inspires me and depresses me. She's clever, sophisticated, stylish and 13. The way she writes her blog, you wouldn't believe that its a 13 year old writing it. Her analysis on things are well read, and insightful. Its not one bit pretentious or that ' I want to sound clever' feel to it. Its just great!
It depressed me because, here I am, an aspiring Graphic Designer....I should be doing something more like this and nto jsut waiting for briefs to come to me. I have the whole summer, I am interested so a lot of things but just too lazy to blog!....
